Townsend Town, New Castle County, Delaware is a town located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 346 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the town is 380, It is the 20th smallest by population in the U.S. state of Delaware. The town spans an area of 0.59 square miles (1.53 kmē), it is the 51st largest by area in the U.S. state of Delaware.

As of the census of 2000, there were 346 people, 132 households, and 95 families residing in the town. The population density was 582.3 people per square mile (224.83/kmē), it would be the seventh least densely populated town in the U.S. state of Delaware.
