Torrington City is a city located in Goshen County, Wyoming, in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 5776. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 5514, giving it the 14th largest population among Wyoming. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.57 mi˛ (9.25 square kilometre), giving it the 80th largest by total area among Wyoming.

As of the census of 2000, there were 5776 residents, 2436 households, and 1523 families in the city. The population density was 1617.4 people per square mile (624.48/km˛), it is the 12th most populated city in terms of population density. There were 2644 housing units at an average density of 740.6 per square mile (285.95/km˛). The average household size was 2.26 persons, and the average family size was 2.86 persons.
