Toole County, Montana


Toole County is one of the 56 county of Montana, located towards the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. In 2000, the population was 5267. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 5141, It is Montana's 34th most populous county. The county extends throughout a territory of 1945.86 sq mi (5039.75 kmē ), of which, 1910.95 square miles (4949.34 kmē) of it is land and 34.91 square miles (90.42 kmē) of it is water, it is the 34th largest by area in the U.S. state of Montana.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 5267 people, 1962 households, and 1309 families residing in the county. The population density was 2.8 people per square mile (1.08/kmē), giving it the 27th most densely populated county among the Montana. There were 2300 housing units at an average density of 1.2 per square mile (0.46/kmē). The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 3.09. In the county Age distribution was 25.5% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 15.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 106.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 107.2 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 5141, The racial makeup of the county was 91.32% White, 0.21% Black or African American, 5.49% American Indian, 0.35% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 2.61% from two or more races.
