Tolland County is a county in the United States of Connecticut. It is home to over 136364 people (2000 census). In July 2008, its estimated population was 148406, It is second least populous county in Connecticut. The county spans an area of 417.01 square miles (1080.05 square kilometre), of which, 410.07 square miles (1062.08 square kilometre) of it is land and 6.94 square miles (17.97 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the smallest by total area in Connecticut.

The population density was 332.5 people per square mile (128.38/kmē), making it the sixth most densely populated county in Connecticut. There were 51570 housing units at an average density of 125.8 per square mile (48.57/kmē). The average household size was 2.54 persons, and the average family size was 3.03 persons. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 23.1% under the age of 18, 12.9% from 18 to 24, 30.7% from 25 to 44, 23.2% from 45 to 64, and 10.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.5 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 148406, The racial makeup of the county was 91.77% White, 3.59% Black or African American, 0.25% American Indian, 3.11% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 1.25% from two or more races.
