Tishomingo County is one of the 82 county of Mississippi, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 19163 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 18947, It is 52nd most populous county in Mississippi. It has total area of 444.54 mi˛ (1151.35 square kilometre), of which, 424.12 square miles (1098.47 square kilometre) of it is land and 20.41 square miles (52.86 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 19th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Mississippi.

For every 100 females there were 92.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.8 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 18947, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 95.3% White, 3.74% Black or African American, 0.22% American Indian, 0.07% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 0.65% from two or more races.
