Tioga County, Pennsylvania is a county of the United States of Pennsylvania. Tioga County had an official population of 41373 in 2000. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 40574, It is the 14th smallest county by population in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is spread over 1137.3 square miles (2945.59 square kilometre), of which, 1133.73 square miles (2936.35 square kilometre ) of it is land and 3.58 square miles (9.27 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the fifth largest by area in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 41373 people in the county, organized into 15925 households, and 11191 families living in the county. The population density was 36.5 people per square mile (14.09/kmē), making it the sixth least densely populated county in Pennsylvania. There were 19893 housing units at an average density of 17.5 per square mile (6.76/kmē). The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 2.93. In the county the population was spread out, with 23.7% under the age of 18, 10.6% from 18 to 24, 25.4% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 16% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.8 males. Its population was estimated at 40574 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 97.75% White, 0.88% Black or African American, 0.26% American Indian, 0.41% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 0.68% from two or more races.
