Tilden City is a city located in Madison and Antelope counties, Nebraska, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 1078. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 997, It is the 109th largest by population in the U.S. state of Nebraska. The city encompasses an area of 0.73 miē (1.89 kmē), it is the 132nd largest by area in the U.S. state of Nebraska.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1078 residents, 418 households, and 271 families in the city. The population density was 1475.5 people per square mile (569.69/kmē), making it the 144th most densely populated city in Nebraska.
