Thurmont Town is one of the town of Frederick County, Maryland, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The population of the town was 5588 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 6037, It is 163rd most populous in Maryland. The town extends throughout a territory of 2.97 square miles (7.69 sq km ), it is the 187th largest by area in the U.S. state of Maryland.
