According to the 2000 census it had a population of 2939 inhabitants. It is 156th most populous in Massachusetts. It has total area of 3.39 mi˛ (8.78 sq km), of which, 3.2 square miles (8.29 sq km) of it is land and 0.19 square miles (0.49 sq km) of it is water, it is the 156th largest by area in the U.S. state of Massachusetts.
