Thief River Falls City is a city located in Pennington County, Minnesota, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 8410. Its population was estimated at 8472 in July 2008, It is the 93rd largest by population in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The city has a total area of 4.99 sq mi (12.92 square kilometre), of which, 4.78 square miles (12.38 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.21 square miles (0.54 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 155th largest in terms of geographical size.
