Thermopolis Town is a United States town located in the Hot Springs County, Wyoming, United States. The population of the town was 3172 as per the 2000 census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 2971, making it the 24th most populous in Wyoming. The town extends throughout a territory of 2.47 sq mi (6.4 kmē ), of which, 2.38 square miles (6.16 kmē) of it is land and 0.09 square miles (0.23 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 100th largest by total area in Wyoming.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3172 residents, 1342 households, and 850 families in the town. The population density was 1331 people per square mile (513.9/kmē), it is the 20th most densely populated town in the U.S. state of Wyoming. There were 1568 housing units at an average density of 658.8 per square mile (254.36/kmē). The average household size was 2.26 and the average family size was 2.86. In the town the population was distributed as follows: 22.5% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 23.2% from 25 to 44, 26.9% from 45 to 64, and 21% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 89.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.3 males. The median age is 43.5 years, the median age of male residents at 42.5 and the median age of female residents at 44.5. The racial or ethnic makeup of the town was 95.9% White, 0.47% Black or African American, 1.7% American Indian, 0.25% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 1.17% from two or more races and 0.5% Other races.
