Texico City, New Mexico


Texico City is a one of the Curry County, New Mexico, located in Western Region (Mountain) of United States. The city has a population of 1065 as per the 2000 census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 987, making it New Mexico's 118th largest. Its area is just over 0.82 mi˛ (2.12 square kilometre), making it the 23rd smallest by size in New Mexico.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 1065 people, 457 households, and 284 families living in the city. The population density was 1299 people per square mile (501.55/km˛), it would be the 28th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of New Mexico. There were 414 housing units at an average density of 504.9 per square mile (194.94/km˛). The average household size was 2.8 persons, and the average family size was 3.34 persons. Age range in the city was well distributed with 30.8% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 28.1% from 25 to 44, 19.7% from 45 to 64, and 12.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.5 males. The median age was 34.5 years, the median age of male residents at 33.7 and the median age of female residents at 35.3. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 59.15% White, 4.6% Black or African American, 1.22% American Indian, 0.09% Asian, 0.09% Native Hawaiian, 3.38% from two or more races and 31.46% Other races.
