Tecumseh City is a city located in Lenawee County, Michigan, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 8574 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 8610, giving it the 129th largest population among Michigan. It has total area of 5.4 square miles (13.99 kmē), of which, 5.17 square miles (13.39 kmē) of it is land and 0.23 square miles (0.6 kmē) of it is water, it is the 137th largest by area in the U.S. state of Michigan.

For every 100 males there were 108 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 114.6 females. The median age of the city's population was 36.3 years, The median age of males was 33.7 years, for females the median age was 38.5 years. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 95.85% White, 0.19% Black or African American, 0.63% American Indian, 0.69% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, 1.14% from two or more races and 1.49% Other races.
