Taylor Town is one of the town of Houston and Geneva counties, Alabama, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Taylor Town is home to 1898 inhabitants. The town's estimated population as of July 2008 was 1993, making it the 197th most populous in Alabama. The town comprises an area of 7.18 square miles (18.6 square kilometre), of which, 7.1 square miles (18.39 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.08 square miles (0.21 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 189th largest in terms of geographical size.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 1898 people, 699 households, and 552 families residing in the town. The population density was 267.4 people per square mile (103.24/kmē), making it the 273rd most densely populated town in Alabama. For every 100 females there were 97.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94 males. The median age was 30.7 years, the median age of male residents at 29.9 and the median age of female residents at 31.1. The racial or ethnic makeup of the town was 93.05% White, 3.79% Black or African American, 0.79% American Indian, 0.26% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 1.37% from two or more races and 0.74% Other races.
