Taos City is a city located in the Cole County, Missouri, United States. Taos City had an official population of 870 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 863, It is the 386th most populous in the U.S. state of Missouri. The city has a total area of 2.35 sq mi (6.09 square kilometre), of which, 2.25 square miles (5.83 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Missouri's 230th largest by total area.
