Tampa City is a city in the Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 303447 as per the Census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 340882, It is third most populous in Florida. It is spread over 170.6 miē (441.85 kmē), of which, 112.07 square miles (290.26 kmē ) of it is land and 58.53 square miles (151.59 kmē) of it is water, it is the second largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks fourth in the size of its inland waterways in Florida.

The population density was 2707.8 people per square mile (1045.49/kmē), it is the 287th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Florida.
