Tama City is a United States city located in the Tama County, Iowa, United States. In 2000, city's population was 2731 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 2557, It is the 119th largest in terms of population. It is spread over 3.17 sq mi (8.21 kmē), of which, 3.02 square miles (7.82 kmē ) of it is land and 0.15 square miles (0.39 kmē) of it is water, making it Iowa's 118th largest by total area.
