Tallahassee City is a city located in Leon County, Florida, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 150624 as per the Census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 171922, giving it the eighth largest population among Florida. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 98.25 sq mi (254.47 sq km), of which, 95.71 square miles (247.89 sq km) of it is land and 2.54 square miles (6.58 sq km) of it is water, it is the sixth largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 150624 people, 63217 households, and 29462 families residing in the city. The population density was 1573.8 people per square mile (607.65/kmē), giving it the 460th most densely populated city among the Florida.
