Taconite City is a city located in the Itasca County, Minnesota, United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Taconite City is home to 315 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 293 in July 2008, It is the 282nd smallest in terms of population. The city extends throughout a territory of 5.25 miē (13.6 kmē ), of which, 4.88 square miles (12.64 kmē) of it is land and 0.36 square miles (0.93 kmē) of it is water, making it the 146th largest by size in Minnesota.
