Sycamore City is a United States city located in the DeKalb County, Illinois, United States. In 2000, city's population was 12020 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 17679 in July 2008, giving it the 181st largest population among Illinois. It is spread over 5.5 square miles (14.24 kmē), of which, 5.48 square miles (14.19 kmē ) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 195th largest by total area in Illinois.
