Swedesboro Borough is a United States borough located in the Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Swedesboro Borough is home to 2055 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 2250, It is the 95th smallest in terms of population. The borough comprises an area of 0.76 square miles (1.97 sq km), of which, 0.73 square miles (1.89 sq km) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 47th smallest by total area among New Jersey.

In the borough the population was distributed as follows: 27.4% under the age of 18, 8% from 18 to 24, 32% from 25 to 44, 20% from 45 to 64, and 12.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.6 males. The median age is 35.9 years, the median age of male residents at 32.9 and the median age of female residents at 37.7. The racial makeup of the borough was 76.93% White, 16.5% Black or African American, 0.05% American Indian, 0.34% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 2.82% from two or more races and 3.36% Other races.
