Suwannee County, Florida is a county of the United States of Florida. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Suwannee County is home to 34844 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 39802, It is the 45th largest in terms of population. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 691.9 mi˛ (1792.01 sq km), of which, 687.64 square miles (1780.98 sq km) of it is land and 4.26 square miles (11.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the 22nd smallest by area in the U.S. state of Florida.


According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 34844 residents, 13460 households, and 9687 families in the county. The population density was 50.7 people per square mile (19.58/km˛), it is the 45th most populated county in terms of population density. There were 15679 housing units at an average density of 22.8 per square mile (8.8/km˛). The average household size was 2.54 persons, and the average family size was 2.96 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 24% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 25.1% from 25 to 44, 25.4% from 45 to 64, and 16.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 104.8 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 107.7 females. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 39802, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 86.13% White, 11.63% Black or African American, 0.44% American Indian, 0.58% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 1.18% from two or more races.
