Suwanee City is a one of the Gwinnett County, Georgia, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. It is home to over 8725 people (2000 census). Its population was estimated at 16277 in July 2008, It is the 96th largest by population in the U.S. state of Georgia. It has total area of 9.88 square miles (25.59 square kilometre), of which, 9.81 square miles (25.41 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Georgia's 80th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 8725 people, 2947 households, and 2376 families residing in the city. The population density was 889.5 people per square mile (343.44/kmē), it is the 168th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Georgia. There were 3144 housing units at an average density of 320.5 per square mile (123.75/kmē). The average household size was 2.89 persons, and the average family size was 3.23 persons.
