It covers total area of 1195.65 mi˛ (3096.72 sq km), of which, 937.58 square miles (2428.32 sq km) of it is land and 258.07 square miles (668.4 sq km) of it is water, it is the largest by area in the U.S. state of Delaware. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in Delaware.
