Susquehanna County is a United States county located in the United States of Pennsylvania. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 42238 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 40831, making it Pennsylvania's 16th smallest county. It covers total area of 832.4 sq mi (2155.91 sq km), of which, 822.86 square miles (2131.2 sq km) of it is land and 9.54 square miles (24.71 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 22nd largest by total area in Pennsylvania.

The population density was 51.3 people per square mile (19.81/kmē), it would be the 12th least densely populated county in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. There were 21829 housing units at an average density of 26.5 per square mile (10.23/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.53 persons, and the average family size was 2.99 persons. In the county Population was distributed with 25.5% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 27.1% from 25 to 44, 25.2% from 45 to 64, and 15.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.8 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 40831, The racial makeup of the county was 40142 White, 213 Black or African American, 83 American Indian, 128 Asian, 6 Native Hawaiian, and 259 from two or more races.
