Sunrise City, Florida is a city of the Broward County, Florida, United States. The population of the city was 85779 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 89026, making it the 17th most populous in Florida. The city extends throughout a territory of 18.43 square miles (47.73 sq km ), of which, 18.2 square miles (47.14 sq km) of it is land and 0.23 square miles (0.6 sq km) of it is water, it is the 96th largest by area in the U.S. state of Florida.

As of the census of 2000, there were 85779 residents, 33308 households, and 22243 families in the city. The population density was 4712.5 people per square mile (1819.51/kmē), it is Florida's 142nd most densely populated city.
