Sunbury City is a city located in the Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, United States. In 2000, the population was 10610. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 9819, It is the 98th largest by population in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The city has a total area of 2.15 square miles (5.57 kmē), of which, 2.12 square miles (5.49 kmē) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 kmē) of it is water, it is the 339th largest by area in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 10610 people, 4540 households, and 2637 families residing in the city. The population density was 4997.1 people per square mile (1929.39/kmē), it would be the 147th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.
