Summit County is a county located in Utah, in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Summit County is home to 29736 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 36100, It is tenth most populous county in Utah. It has total area of 1882.05 sq mi (4874.49 kmē), of which, 1871.05 square miles (4846 kmē) of it is land and 11 square miles (28.49 kmē) of it is water, making it the 18th largest by size in Utah.

The population density was 15.9 people per square mile (6.14/kmē), it is seventh most densely populated county in Utah. There were 17489 housing units at an average density of 9.3 per square mile (3.59/kmē). The average household size was 2.87 people, and the average family size was 3.3 people. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 29.8% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 34% from 25 to 44, 22.9% from 45 to 64, and 4.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 108.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 108.3 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 36100, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 34822 White, 248 Black or African American, 134 American Indian, 488 Asian, 17 Native Hawaiian, and 391 from two or more races.
