Summit City is a city in the Union County, New Jersey, United States. Summit City had an official population of 21131 in 2000. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 20557, It is New Jersey's 65th largest by population . The city has a total area of 6.07 sq mi (15.72 square kilometre), of which, 6.05 square miles (15.67 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 83rd largest by size in New Jersey.

As of the census of 2000, there were 21131 people, 457 households, and 284 families living in the city.
