As of July 2008, the estimated population of the town is 7693, It is the 93rd largest in terms of population. It is spread over 27.28 sq mi (70.65 kmē), of which, 27.11 square miles (70.21 kmē ) of it is land and 0.17 square miles (0.44 kmē) of it is water, it is the 19th largest in terms of geographical size.
