Sullivan County is a county in the United States of New Hampshire. In 2000, county's population was 40458 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 42591, It is second least populous county in New Hampshire. Its area is just over 551.92 miē (1429.47 kmē), of which, 537.38 square miles (1391.81 kmē) of it is land and 14.54 square miles (37.66 kmē) of it is water, it is the third smallest by area in the U.S. state of New Hampshire.

The population density was 75.3 people per square mile (29.07/kmē), making it the seventh most densely populated county in New Hampshire. There were 20158 housing units at an average density of 37.5 per square mile (14.48/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.41 persons, and the average family size was 2.88 persons. The population's age distribution was 23.9% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 28% from 25 to 44, 25.9% from 45 to 64, and 15.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.5 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 42591, The racial makeup of the county was 97.59% White, 0.39% Black or African American, 0.36% American Indian, 0.66% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 0.98% from two or more races.
