Suffolk County is one of the 62 county of New York, located towards the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, county's population was 1419369 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 1512224, It is fourth most populous county in New York. The county extends throughout a territory of 2373.07 mi˛ (6146.22 square kilometre ), of which, 912.2 square miles (2362.59 square kilometre) of it is land and 1460.87 square miles (3783.64 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the second largest by total area in New York. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in New York.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1419369 people, 469299 households, and 360422 families living in the county. The population density was 1556 people per square mile (600.77/km˛), making its New York's ninth most densely populated county. There were 522323 housing units at an average density of 572.6 per square mile (221.08/km˛). The average household size was 2.96 people, and the average family size was 3.36 people. In the county Population was distributed with 26.1% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 31.2% from 25 to 44, 23.3% from 45 to 64, and 11.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.8 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 1512224, The racial makeup of the county was 86.99% White, 7.84% Black or African American, 0.41% American Indian, 3.38% Asian, 0.1% Native Hawaiian, and 1.29% from two or more races.

Of which, percentage of enrollment student are in, 8.17% nursery or pri school, 5.58% kindergarten, 44.75% elementary school, 20.32% high school and 21.19% College graduate school.
