Sublette County, Wyoming is a county of the United States of Wyoming. In 2000, the population was 5920. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 8456, making it Wyoming's seventh smallest county. It is spread over 4935.66 square miles (12783.3 sq km), of which, 4882.57 square miles (12645.8 sq km ) of it is land and 53.08 square miles (137.48 sq km) of it is water, it is the sixth largest by area in the U.S. state of Wyoming. It is ranks fifth in the size of its inland waterways in Wyoming.

As of the census of 2000, there were 5920 people, 2371 households, and 1707 families residing in the county. The population density was 1.2 people per square mile (0.46/kmē), making its Wyoming's second least densely populated county. There were 3552 housing units at an average density of 0.7 per square mile (0.27/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.47 persons, and the average family size was 2.91 persons. In the county Population was distributed with 25.8% under the age of 18, 6% from 18 to 24, 27.5% from 25 to 44, 28.7% from 45 to 64, and 12% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 104.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.5 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 8456, The racial makeup of the county was 97.87% White, 0.39% Black or African American, 0.57% American Indian, 0.19% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, and 0.92% from two or more races.
