According to the 2000 census it had a population of 2047 inhabitants. It is 50th least populous in Massachusetts. The census designated place spans an area of 5.39 square miles (13.96 square kilometre), of which, 5.35 square miles (13.86 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 95th largest by area in the U.S. state of Massachusetts.
