Stonington Borough is a borough located in the New London County, Connecticut, United States. The population of borough in 2000 stood at 1032 as per the Census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 1026, It is the fifth smallest by population in the U.S. state of Connecticut. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.69 mi˛ (1.79 square kilometre), of which, 0.34 square miles (0.88 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.35 square miles (0.91 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Connecticut's fourth smallest by total area.
