Stone Harbor Borough is a United States borough located in the Cape May County, New Jersey, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1128 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the borough is 1012, It is the 39th least populous in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The borough comprises an area of 1.99 sq mi (5.15 square kilometre), of which, 1.42 square miles (3.68 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.57 square miles (1.48 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 293rd largest by area in the U.S. state of New Jersey.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1128 people in the borough, organized into 457 households, and 284 families residing in the borough. The population density was 796.1 people per square mile (307.38/kmē), making its New Jersey's 56th least densely populated borough. There were 3428 housing units at an average density of 2414.1 per square mile (932.09/kmē). It has an average household size was 1.89 persons, and the average family size was 2.5 persons. In the borough the population was distributed as follows: 12.3% under the age of 18, 3% from 18 to 24, 14.4% from 25 to 44, 31.6% from 45 to 64, and 38.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 84.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82.1 males.
