Stockton City is a city located in San Joaquin County, California, in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 243771 inhabitants. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 287037, It is the 13th most populous in the U.S. state of California. It has total area of 55.95 sq mi (144.91 sq km), of which, 54.71 square miles (141.7 sq km) of it is land and 1.24 square miles (3.21 sq km) of it is water, it is the 28th largest by area in the U.S. state of California.
