The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 47653, making it the tenth most populous in Oklahoma. It covers total area of 28.31 mi˛ (73.32 sq km), of which, 27.85 square miles (72.13 sq km) of it is land and 0.46 square miles (1.19 sq km) of it is water, making it Oklahoma's 28th largest by total area.
