Stanly County is a United States county located in the United States of North Carolina. In 2000, county's population was 58100 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 59614, giving it the 42nd largest population among North Carolina's county. Its area is just over 404.26 sq mi (1047.03 kmē), of which, 395.06 square miles (1023.2 kmē) of it is land and 9.2 square miles (23.83 kmē) of it is water, making it the 67th largest by size in North Carolina.
