Stanhope Borough, Sussex County, New Jersey is a borough located in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. Stanhope Borough had an official population of 3584 in 2000. The borough's estimated population as of July 2008 was 3562, It is the 163rd smallest in terms of population. The borough extends throughout a territory of 2.21 sq mi (5.72 kmē ), of which, 1.87 square miles (4.84 kmē) of it is land and 0.34 square miles (0.88 kmē) of it is water, making it New Jersey's 269th largest by total area.
