Stamford City is one of the city of Fairfield County, Connecticut, located towards the Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Stamford City is home to 117083 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 119303, making it Connecticut's fourth largest. It is spread over 52.07 square miles (134.86 kmē), of which, 37.75 square miles (97.77 kmē ) of it is land and 14.33 square miles (37.11 kmē) of it is water, makes it the largest by total area in Connecticut. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in Connecticut.
