It is the 57th largest in terms of population. It has total area of 17.86 sq mi (46.26 square kilometre), of which, 16.61 square miles (43.02 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.25 square miles (3.24 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 35th largest by area in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is ranks 11 in the size of its inland waterways in Georgia.
