St. Petersburg City, Pinellas County, Florida is a city located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 248232 as per the Census data. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 245314, It is the fourth largest by population in the U.S. state of Florida. The city spans an area of 133.08 mi˛ (344.68 sq km), of which, 59.63 square miles (154.44 sq km) of it is land and 73.45 square miles (190.23 sq km) of it is water, makes it the third largest by total area in Florida. It is ranks second in the size of its inland waterways in Florida.

As of the census of 2000, there were 248232 residents, 109663 households, and 61584 families in the city. The population density was 4163.1 people per square mile (1607.38/km˛), making it the 172nd most densely populated city in Florida. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 177133 White, 55502 Black or African American, 769 American Indian, 6640 Asian, 130 Native Hawaiian, 5397 from two or more races and 2661 Ohter races.
