St. Ignace City is a United States city located in the Mackinac County, Michigan, United States. As of 2000 the population was 2678. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 2335, making it Michigan's 266th largest. The city encompasses an area of 2.71 mi˛ (7.02 square kilometre ), of which, 2.7 square miles (6.99 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 260th largest in terms of geographical size.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 2678 people, 1085 households, and 676 families residing in the city. The population density was 990.7 people per square mile (382.51/km˛), it would be the 358th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Michigan.
