St. Bernard Parish is a one of the parish from Louisiana's 64 parishes, located in Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. In 2000, parish's population was 67229 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 37722, It is the 30th most populous parish in the U.S. state of Louisiana. Its area is just over 1793.75 mi˛ (4645.79 square kilometre), of which, 465.04 square miles (1204.45 square kilometre) of it is land and 1328.71 square miles (3441.34 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the fourth largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks second in the size of its inland waterways in Louisiana.

The July 2008 population estimate is 37722, The racial makeup of the parish was 31725 White, 4474 Black or African American, 241 American Indian, 661 Asian, 21 Native Hawaiian, and 600 from two or more races.
