Spotsylvania County is a one of the county from Virginia's 135 counties, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The county has a population of 90395 as per the 2000 census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 120031, making it the 15th most populous county in Virginia. It is spread over 412.27 mi˛ (1067.77 square kilometre), of which, 400.86 square miles (1038.22 square kilometre ) of it is land and 11.41 square miles (29.55 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 47th largest by total area in Virginia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 90395 people, 31308 households, and 24635 families residing in the county. The population density was 225.5 people per square mile (87.07/km˛), it is 50th most densely populated county in Virginia. There were 33329 housing units at an average density of 83.1 per square mile (32.09/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.87 persons, and the average family size was 3.22 persons. In the county Age distribution was 30% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 32.2% from 25 to 44, 22.2% from 45 to 64, and 8.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 120031, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 95678 White, 18780 Black or African American, 341 American Indian, 2715 Asian, 58 Native Hawaiian, and 2459 from two or more races.
