Spirit Lake City is a city located in Dickinson County, Iowa, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Spirit Lake City is home to 4261 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 4692, giving it the 87th largest population among Iowa. The city encompasses an area of 3.34 sq mi (8.65 sq km ), of which, 3.33 square miles (8.62 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 112th largest by total area among Iowa.
