Spirit Lake City is a city in the Kootenai County, Idaho, United States. As of 2000 the population was 1376. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 1730, making it Idaho's 70th largest. The city encompasses an area of 1.9 sq mi (4.92 square kilometre), making it the 55th largest by size in Idaho.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1376 residents, 517 households, and 369 families in the city. The population density was 723.8 people per square mile (279.46/kmē), it would be the 62nd least densely populated city in the U.S. state of Idaho. There were 587 housing units at an average density of 308.9 per square mile (119.27/kmē). The average household size was 2.66 persons, and the average family size was 3.07 persons.
