Sparks City is a one of the Washoe County, Nevada, located in Western Region (Mountain) of United States. The city has a population of 66346 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 88602, It is the eighth largest by population in the U.S. state of Nevada. It is spread over 23.98 mi˛ (62.11 sq km), of which, 23.92 square miles (61.95 sq km ) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 sq km) of it is water, making it the 32nd largest by size in Nevada. It is ranks 15 in the size of its inland waterways in Nevada.

As of the census of 2000, there were 66346 residents, 24601 households, and 16637 families in the city. The population density was 2773.6 people per square mile (1070.89/km˛), it is seventh most densely populated city in Nevada. There were 26025 housing units at an average density of 1088 per square mile (420.08/km˛). The average household size was 2.67 persons, and the average family size was 3.19 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 26.9% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 31.6% from 25 to 44, 22.1% from 45 to 64, and 10.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96 males.
