Southgate City is a city in the Wayne County, Michigan, United States. In 2000, city's population was 30136 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 27739, It is the 46th most populous in the U.S. state of Michigan. The city comprises an area of 6.86 square miles (17.77 square kilometre), making it Michigan's 103rd largest by total area.
